Rick R. Sitzman, DVM

Dr. Rick “Doc” Sitzman has been at Parkview for 30 years. He was born and raised in Scottsbluff, NE. Doc started his college career at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he majored in Zoology with minors in Math and Chemistry. After his time with the Navy he returned to UNL to earn another degree, this time in Animal Science and then on to the University of Minnesota where he earned his DVM. Throughout school his favorite part was always being able to work hands on while learning. Today it hasn’t changed much, he enjoys the variety of patients and projects that are never the same day to day.
For many years Doc bred Labrador Retrievers, now he enjoys seeing pups from his litters come into the clinic. He also has several cats he’s acquired over the years that live at the clinic. One of Doc’s favorite hobbies is fishing, he even makes some of his own lures. When he’s not out on the water or at sport shows he enjoys traveling, reading, hunting, and photography. He hopes to do more fishing and traveling when he retires. Doc’s wife Paula is an RN and they have 2 daughters; Nicole and Heidi and her husband Matt. They also have 2 grandsons.
